Early in the evening as I walked to seek retreat
Gentle breeze to soothe my skin
Thoughts of woe would beckon in
With haste I pushed them out again
With hope I yearn replete

Suddenly distracted as I hear the sweetest sound
I search for such a startling bird
This vibrant, endless sound I heard
A melody without one word
To me twas quite profound

Amused and lost in wonder, I stood with great critique
I couldn’t help but stop to think
Her song so touching, so distinct
Of no concern to join in sync
Why was hers so unique?
