An Honest Prayer

Help me not to doubt you Lord though trials come my way
Stay right here beside me, let not my spirit stray

I used to be your angel Lord, I tried to be like you
Each day I read the Bible and I did what it said to do

Then I started hurting and the tribulations came
I know that I'm the one at fault; I know that I'm to blame

Now I wonder if you hear me, the way you used to do
Remember all those times I knelt and gave my heart to you?

Maybe it will be tonight that you might hear my prayer
And show me some small sign to let me know that you still care
And Lord if there are others that are also feeling lost
Help us all remember what you died for on that cross
Send us your sweet spirit and fill us once again
With great anticipation Lord, I wait for You
