Around The
Bend
Who
can judge the distance between the 'if and when'
And who can aptly measure time, inside the 'now and then'
We use these words and phrases to convey uncertainty
Like "if it's meant to happen' and 'what will be will be'
And so with indecision and to lighten up our load
We put aside so many things, for somewhere down the road
And leave them for tomorrow or maybe or whenever
The phrases that we use are merely tales of the endeavor
The truth is that we cannot know what lies around the bend
No one knows when our todays or tomorrows just might end
So ifs and whens are yesterday's, too late to try them now
And all of those intentions have been left behind somehow
If only we could want someone, or something so damn much
We wouldn't say the things we do and use them as a crutch
Then someday when our days are done, our life on earth is through
We know that we did all we could to make our dreams come true
And so with ambiguity, we tread the
path we make
Never knowing what was waiting on the road we didn't take
And dreams and wishes left behind for someone else to tend
Waiting there for someone, somewhere around the bend
