Folded Corners

Pages turn to chapters as our lives are written down
Records of our actions as we choose each verb and noun
Things we have experienced
The choices we have made
People that impact our lives and roles that each have played

And once each page is written it can never be defaced
Each one is bound securely and will never be replaced
Chapters of the hardest times
The happiness and smiles
Chances that we've taken that brought victories or trials

And as we fill the pages we begin to contemplate
Our lives are but a story that each one of us create
Yesterday cannot be changed
The past you cannot borrow
But today can help determine what is written down tomorrow

What if every thing we do and every word we say
Was bound with great precision
And placed on a shelf someday?
The value that's decided will most certainly be told
By corners of the pages someone takes the time to fold
