The Greatest Love Of All

I can't imagine greater love, a love that was so true
All her heart was feeling, his heart would feel it too
And sometimes in the silence, their spirits would be heard
They learned to say I Love You, without a single word

And one day while out driving, their special song was playing
A song about the deepest love, a love he was conveying
It touched her heart so deeply, she closed her eyes to feel it
Such passion overcame her that her heart could not conceal it

And as she heard him singing of the greatest love of all
She drifted into memories, she started to recall
But somewhere up ahead of her a truck had pulled aside
If only she had noticed and she hadn't closed her eyes

And as she lie there struggling, and people gathered round
She heard that love song playing as she lie there on the ground
And while the lights were flashing, and sirens filled the air
She felt somebody touch her and she knew that he was there

Today she tells the story of how had she not felt his hand
To comfort her through injuries too painful to withstand
She may have drifted off into another world somewhere

Nobody's ever told her that he wasn't really there
