Waking
in the morning, the aroma's in the air
Pies are in the oven, there's loved ones everywhere
And all the special dinnerware is brought out one more time

I'll be there on Thursday, if only in my mind
How
very proud my father is for on this special day
Everything he's worked for lay here neatly on display
A bounty like you've never seen all carefully aligned
Yes I'll be there on Thursday, if only in my mind
And just before we raise our forks a prayer to thank our Lord
For all that he has given us, we bow in one accord
Gratified for families with hearts that are entwined
Yes I'll be there on Thursday, if only in my mind
So many empty places now for they have gone away
But when I close my eyes I'm there, just like it's yesterday
Left with only memories that they have left behind
