Insincere, words flow with ease
Like a feather in the breeze
To a heart with vacant space
Love will hide them in this place
With reason to appease

And as with hope they tarry there
Longing not to meet despair
Quietly to rest without
Not a query, not a doubt
Nor consequence or care

Confronted not, they seek to rest
Deep inside a trusting chest
But new words cannot find their way
To join with those of yesterday
Now tempted to resist

So every word is pushed away
Inside this heart they cannot stay
If only from the start they knew
If not thy uttering is true
What triumph have they made?

So now although with ears are heard
A heart has learned to not be stirred
Oh that truth and honesty
Had found it's way inside of me
Instead of what occurred
