When I was
just a little girl, at times I'd be afraid
I didn't like the darkness and the noises that it made
Through all the things in childhood that I didn't understand
There was someone there beside me
Someone to hold my hand
When I was
just a careless teen, and no one could explain
Why other kids say hurtful things that bring about such pain
Through all the things a young girls' heart could not alone
withstand
There was someone there beside me
Someone to hold my hand
Then I'd
become a lady and, the time to be a wife
Two people make a vow to be together throughout life
Through all the trials that'd come about, things we couldn't plan
There'd be someone there beside me
Someone to hold my hand
So many years
have come and gone, my mother rests in peace
My childhood friends now memories, a vow has been released
So when my time has come to pass into the glory land
I pray someone's beside me
Someone to hold my hand
