TWINKLE

Into the darkened sky you search, a thousand stars you see
you’re searching for that brightest shine,
The one that renders endless time,
And others fade into the night, lest one specifically.

Each night you seek to find again this very special star,
You revel as you fix your sight,
Upon that bright and shining light,
You know you cannot touch it, so you savor from afar.

And wanting for another look, the blackness you survey,
That effervescent object of,
This feeling you have come to love,
The glimmer still to fascinate, has found another day.

Then one night that chosen star, it's brilliance seemed to fade,
And other’s glistened closely by,
Their sparkle now had caught your eye,
Disappointed, pondering, it's beauty now betrayed.

That star that once excited you, did not it’s glory lose,
Your eyes had grown complacent to,
The wonder of that bliss you knew,
Left a story to construe ......

Not every star can TWINKLE  the way the heart would choose.
