Day of 9-11

From far away, I watched them fall
My heart had stopped as I recall
Someone’s mother, someone’s son
Working hard to get things done

Through the clouds a peril flew
No one warned them, no one knew
Passersby, in awe they stood
Witnessed evil, witnessed good

To their death without a warning
Falling on that summer morning
Some would choose their way to die
Flee from fire as if to fly

Thoughts of anguish, tears of pain
Fell like ashes, fell like rain
Those escaping, safety found
Towers crumble to the ground

Others would of safety flee
Surveyed through the dark debris
Tears were falling, hearts were broken
Silenced by the words unspoken

Searching and they would not find
Just one person, just one sign
Fell
that day of nine eleven
Lifted by the hands of Heaven
