Serendipity

It's not an ordinary thing, so few will understand it
Most of us have found it, even though we didn't plan it
And if you will embrace it, and let the beauty in
A journey of great wonder is certain to begin

For something deep inside you, will send your senses reeling
Your heart will beat much differently to celebrate this feeling
And it could never be compared, it's value can't be measured
No other gift should ever be, so cherished or so treasured

And once you have received it, you cannot let it go
It's planted somewhere deep inside with fortitude to grow
And once the magic happens, the signs are most revealing
You'll find you can't conceal it, you can't control the feeling

And suddenly you're smiling, even when you don't know why
You feel as though you walk on air, you laugh so hard you cry
And now you really feel the words to songs that you've been singing
The birds are chirping sweeter, and bells have started ringing

The beauty of a butterfly has somehow made you wonder
You're dancing in the puddles (even in the rain and thunder)
The breeze is blowing gentler and your burdens feel much lighter
The moon is so much bigger and the stars are shining brighter

And there isn't any medicine, there isn't any cure
The side effects are permanent; it's planned so they'll endure
So if you are experiencing the things that I have noted
You're lost inside the arms of love, wholeheartedly devoted

And isn't it incredible the happiness it brings you?
It's something every heart was made to long for and to cling to
And once you have discovered it, I know that you'll agree
The greatest things in life are merely Serendipity
